About

I consider myself a linguist fascinated by languages, their function, and how they all intertwine. Etymology is something that excites me.

I hold two degrees in Spanish, the first of which I earned in 2013 from UCCS after attending our program. My studies were so motivating that they drove me to seek out a master's degree in Spanish with an emphasis in Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition (May 2021 - CU Denver). Perhaps my doctorate in linguistics is the next logical item for exploration…

During my 13 years of professional experience with language teaching, I spent time honing my teaching craft at a local high school in Colorado Springs. I gained a deep understanding of effective methods for teaching second language acquisition. I love finding new ways to help people learn to not just understand a language but become fluent. Additionally, during my tenure at the high school, I was fortunate to teach in an adjunct capacity with CU Denver. Here at UCCS I am excited to expand my experience and continue developing my teaching craft at the university level.

I am a Colorado native and a lover of all things Peanuts. I love to travel and try to do it as often as I can.  My husband and I make it a goal to take a trip at least once per year. I am an avid crocheter, have two kids, two cats, and love life.
